Heidrea for Heroes Awarded $10,000 Donation from Dunkin' Donuts Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation
Heidrea for Heroes (www.heidrea4heroes.org), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources and support to military men and women facing challenges and hurdles after transitioning back to civilian life, announced today that the organization was recently awarded a $10,000 donation from The Dunkin’ Donuts Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation (DDBRCF) Northeast Chapter.
The check was presented yesterday at the original Dunkin’ Donuts location, 543 Southern Artery, Quincy, at 11 a.m. to Jesse Brown, co-founder of Heidrea for Heroes, and Amy Belmore, Director of Development and Project Manager of Heidrea for Heroes. Benny Omid, Victor Carvalho, Octavio Carvalho and Molly Wiley represented The DDBRCF at the presentation.
“The DDBRCF is proud to support Heidrea for Heroes with a $10,000 donation,” said Benny Omid, Dunkin’ Donuts Franchisee and Co-chair of The DDBRCF Northeast Chapter. “This donation will help to provide increased accessibility equipment for our veterans at their homes and will increase the quality of life for them and their families. Local Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins franchisees, employees and guests are committed to continuing to raise funds so we can help take care of even more of those in need in our communities.”
“We are very grateful to The Dunkin’ Donuts Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation Northeast Chapter,” said Belmore. “We sincerely appreciate this generous show of confidence in our mission, and will be able to use the funds to help alleviate pressing hardships for many local deserving veterans.”
The donation is designated to Heidrea for Heroes’ Lift 21 initiative, a program aimed at lifting a burden for 21 veterans in need of a helping hand between January 1 and June 30, 2016. Heidrea for Heroes is on track to hit its goal, with the majority of Lift 21 projects already completed or currently underway. Types of assistance have included home repairs, wheelchair ramp installations, and qualified immediate relief. Individual community members who would like to support their efforts are encouraged to donate online at www.heidrea4heroes.org or can mail donations to Heidrea for Heroes, 10 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 224, Plymouth, MA 02360. Veterans in need of assistance are welcome to call (774) 773-3951 to learn more about services offered and the application process.
About Heidrea for Heroes, Inc.
Heidrea for Heroes was founded by Marine Corps veterans and small business owners/partners Jesse Brown and Mathew Mastroianni, who are also partners in a telecommunications firm. Both, as veterans, understand the issues of transition from military to civilian life – and they have formed this non-profit organization to provide vital support services to veterans. With offices in Plymouth’s Cordage Park, they seek volunteers and investors to help them realize their dream; they recently received a $40,000 donation from the New England Wireless Association. Heidrea for Heroes provides adaptive home and vehicle modifications, wheelchair ramps, mobility equipment, and individualized veteran/family support that aim to inspire and motivate veterans and families to move forward through transitions. Heidrea for Heroes has an application process for veterans in need of assistance and welcomes Massachusetts veterans of any age to submit. Applications and more information about the organization can be found online at www.heidrea4heroes.org, or you can call 774-773-3951. Family/friends of veterans can also inquire or apply on their behalf. Heidrea for Heroes maintains offices at 10 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 224, Plymouth, MA 02360.
