Victoria Global covers EVPA Training Academy with support from Acanthus, Adessium Foundation, BMW Foundation and Omidyar Network

The Soho Loft Media Group, with Victoria Global,  support the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA) Training Academy VP in Practice slated this June 4-5 2015 in Barcelona, Spain

The EVPA Training Academy VP in Practise will be held at the University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain from Thursday June 4, 2015 7:00PM till Friday June 5, 2015 10:00PM. Participants from all over Europe are expected to attend this training.

LDJ Capital, The Soho Loft Media Group and Victoria Global Chairman David Drake says, ‘This is a must be attended program by all who seek a complete understanding of Venture Philanthropy and Social Investment. This event has much to offer and teach on giving and investing.’

This event  will be an interactive training program that balances the theories with unique practice-based learnings.  Topics for discussion include:  different invest models within venture philosophy and social impact;  measurement of management of social impact; exit strategies;  board management and conflict resolution with focus on  best practices; and provision of non-financial support to Social Purpose Organisations (SPO’s).

“EVPA's Training Academy is a unique opportunity to learn the impact-centric investment approach from deal selection to exit. We look forward to working with this year's cohort and to continue EVPA's ever growing network of venture philanthropy practitioners,”says Lisa Hehenberger, EVPA  Research and Policy Director.

Hedda Pahlson-Moller, member of the EVPA Board of Directors, says “‘These trainings provide both the framework and expertise built on EVPA research and experience, but also a platform to share knowledge and learnings. This sharing element is one of the exceptional characteristic of the Venture Philanthropy field and significantly contributing to the growth of the social impact sector.”

The trainers for this event include:

Amanda Gordon, Partner at Impetus PEF
Chloe’ Tuot, Phitrust
Fabio Segura, Head of International Intervention at Jacobs Foundation
Inés Alegre, Lecturer at  IESE Business
Lisa Hehenberger, Research Director at EVPA
Patrick Dunne, Chairman of Leap Confronting Conflict
Priscilla Boiardi, Research Manager at EVPA

Module I will be held  on  4-5 June 2015 at the  International University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain. Module II will take place from 15-16 September 2015 at the EVPA head office in Brussels at Philanthropy House. There is a 3-month space between the two modules. This will provide the trainees enough lead time to improve learning and integrate theory into day-to-day activities.

The total number of participants is limited to 15-20, all  from  Europe.  A number of scholarships is available for attendees, which includes travelling costs and fees.

Certificates of Participation will be given to individuals who attend the two modules and complete their assignments by EVPA.

The sponsors for the event are: Omidyar Network, Adessium Foundation, BMW Foundation, European Commission, and Acanthus.
