The Westin Denver International Airport Names Team Members to Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, Revenue Management and Sales & Catering

Denver, CO…June 15, 2015…Several new associates have been named at The Westin Denver International Airport.  The hotel is expected to generate over 280 full time and part time jobs, depending on business levels, by scheduled opening day of November 19, 2015.

Theresa Cory has been named as director of revenue management.  For the past three years, Cory held the position of director of revenue management for Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort in Tucson, AZ.  Cory has held revenue management positions with various Starwood Hotels & Resort properties over a 14-year period including the Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa in Litchfield Park, AZ, the St. Regis Houston and the Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, TX.   Cory, a Tucson native, is a graduate of University of Arizona, with a BA in Political Science.  Cory enjoys watching movies, cooking and spending time with friends.

Nick Davies has been named as the director of catering and events. Davies comes to hotel from Denver based Kevin Taylor Restaurant Group, where he served as general manager. Davies, who has fourteen years of hospitality management in both Europe and North America, began his career as a server in a carvery style restaurant in the south of England.  Davies’ other roles have included those of restaurant manager, events manager and food and beverage manager.  Originally from England, Davies has lived in the United States in Orlando, Florida and then in the greater Denver area.  Davies, who recently purchased his first home in Aurora, CO, is an avid cook and enjoys golf, swimming, hiking, drive-in movies and working on home improvements.

Robert Harbison has been named as director of finance.  Harbison currently serves as area director of finance for Colorado Starwood Hotels & Resorts properties and will continue in that position. Harbison comes to Denver from the Sheraton Steamboat Resort where he held the position of director of finance. Harbison, who has been with Starwood for over 18 years, enjoys many outdoor adventures including biking, fishing and golfing.   Harbison received Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix campus in Tucson Arizona.

Michael “Curtis” Heath has been named a director of engineering.  Heath, who has spent the past 25 years in hospitality industry in engineering, came to the property from the St. Regis Deer Valley in Park City, Utah where he served as director of engineering.  He has held that same position at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel, Waikiki, HI and the Vail Cascade Resort, Vail, CO.  Heath has held positions in engineering and/or security for the Great Divide Lodge, Breckenridge, CO; Harrah’s Hotel and Casino, Laughlin, NV and United California Brands, Rialto, CA.  Heath graduated from San Antonio College, Walnut, CA with a major in HVAC. His hobbies include bowling, biking, camping, golfing, scuba diving, surfing the outdoors and people. Heath is family oriented and helped raise four outstanding children.

Kathleen Hume has been named as account director.  Hume, a Colorado native has spent the last 15 years in the Seattle market and has worked for major brands to include IHG, Hilton, Starwood, Marriott and Destination Hotels & Resorts in various sales positions including that of director of group sales specializing in the national association and government market segments.  Hume enjoys watching movies, cooking and spending time with family including a new grandson.

Kelcie Kaiser has been named as account coordinator.  Kaiser previously worked for Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard and Smith Attorneys at Law as an office assistant and has served as a Poms Coach at Smoky Hill High School, as well as general manager at Cold Stone Creamery. Kaiser graduated from Metropolitan State University in Hospitality, Tourism and Events and plans to attend graduate school in the fall in the Cornell University Hospitality Management program.  Kaiser, a Colorado native, enjoys hikes with her yellow lab and line dancing.

Julie Lawrence has been named as director of human resources. Lawrence has worked for Starwood Hotels and Resorts for 11 years, most recently as director of human Resources at the Westin Indianapolis.  Lawrence, who relocated to Colorado with her two small children and husband, has an undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management from Illinois State University and a MBA/HRM from University of Phoenix. She enjoys all outdoor activities and exploring her new home with her family.

The Westin Denver International Airport is scheduled to open in November of 2015. This 433,000 square foot, 14-story hotel will be a modern and convenient destination for both business and leisure travelers at Denver International Airport (DEN).  With a sleek design by Gensler, the hotel boasts a range of world-class amenities.
