Domestic companies are strong in home insecticides, with Upeco, Arnest, Bioguard, Sibiar all among the top five players and together accounting for 61% value share in 2013. These players benefit from a long history in home insecticides, resulting in strong brand awareness, alongside affordable prices and wide distribution. Upeco led overall sales in the year with almost 31% value share and also saw the strongest gain in share from 2012 at over half a percentage point. This company benefited from upgrading its products towards the end of the review period and also from strong advertising support for its Raptor brand.
With growing health-consciousness in Russia, consumers are expected to make more of an effort to escape the city in the forecast period. Consumers will increasingly view visiting the countryside as a means of escaping the stress and pollution of city life.
