Sacred Heart School names Emily Pina to position of Chief Financial Officer

Sacred Heart School (www.sacredheartkingston.com), a private, Catholic, co-educational school for students in preschool through grade 12, announced today  that East Bridgewater, MA resident Emily Pina has been selected as the school’s new Chief Financial Officer.

In this role, Pina, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)  will lead the school’s Finance Office. She comes to Sacred Heart from the Norwell, MA CPA firm Lynch, Malloy and Marini, where she was employed for the past ten years, most recently as Accountant and Audit Manager.

She earned her Master’s Degree, with a concentration in Accounting, from Bridgewater State College. She also holds a Bachelor of Science, with a major in Accounting and Finance, from the same school.

Pina brings significant experience in working with nonprofit accounting to her new role with Sacred Heart School; she has worked closely with numerous school districts and departments.

The Hanson, MA native is a member of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, and was named to the industry award of Rising Star in that organization. She has also served on the Board of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs Community Service Committee. Outside of her work in the field of accounting, she has been a volunteer for the South Shore Habitat for Humanity.

Pina and her family recently relocated to East Bridgewater, and she says that they are looking forward to getting involved with their new community. While she lists basketball as one of her keen interests, she said that what she most enjoys doing when not working is spending time with her family, which includes her husband Ray and their 15 month old daughter, Charlotte.

Of her new position at Sacred Heart, she said, “I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of such a prestigious organization and to assist in the continued growth and development of the School."  She noted that she actually went to school with Sacred Heart’s former CFO, and said, “I am eager to pick up where he left off.”

Pamela Desmarais, President of Sacred Heart School, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Emily to our Sacred Heart family. She is extremely well-qualified for this role with her strong background in accounting and finance, and we look forward to her being part of this great team that we have here.” She added, “We also offer our special thanks to Dottie Parker and Debbie Barry who have managed the Finance Department during the transition period this summer.”
