Urbane Announces New Serviced Luxury Apartments To Rent In The Heart of Oxford City UK

Urbane in St Thomas Street combines a host of state-of-the art features with a convenient central location offering a home from home for those visiting the city for business of pleasure.

Built on the site of the former Maroon bar and Chequers pub, building retains original external features including copper flashing, while the interior has been transformed into six distinctively styled apartments.

The aim is to offer an alternative to hotel accommodation in Oxford with flexibility allowing guests to stay from just a few nights up to a year for those working on contracts or looking to relocate.

Facilities include HD televisions, a walk-in wet room with drench showers and toiletries, underfloor heating, double bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, Bluetooth music player and dedicated USB charging points for smartphones and other multi-media devices.

There is a range of contemporary furniture while the designer Siemens kitchens are fitted with a fridge/freezer, microwave, hob, oven, washing machine and dishwasher.

The apartments also have a maid service which is available each week which can even extend to stocking the fridge. And the service includes a 24 hour emergency line that connects directly to a personal property manager.

Robin Swailes, director of Jericho-based Blue Sky Developments which created Urbane, said: “Oxford is such a thriving city with thousands of people visiting it every day.

“We wanted to offer an alternative to impersonal hotel accommodation with better facilities, complete flexibility and the chance to really “live” in the city at a lower cost.” We have designed the apartments to be comfortable and friendly a ‘Home from Home’

In terms of location, Urbane could not be more central being positioned just around the corner from the train station, Said Business School and Oxford Castle.

The city’s pubs, restaurants and bars are within easy walking distance as well as the Oxford colleges, museums and galleries.

Mr Swailes added: “Urbane is really a home from home offering a host of comforts and conveniences and will form a great base either for work or a short city break.

“So many people visit Oxford from around the world for a huge variety of reasons. I believe flexible, luxury accommodation in Oxford such as that offered by Urbane is the way forward.”

One and two bedroom apartments are available ranging from 35 sq metres to 61 sq metres.

An open day is being held for businesses and tourism organisations on September 17 from 3-7pm.
