Homemade Soaps for Beginners, Speedy Publishing's New Crafts, Hobbies & Home Book Published

Homemade Soaps for Beginners published under the Imprint Speedy Publishing Books

Delaware, October 1, 2014
From Janet Brooks comes a great book published under the imprint Speedy Publishing Books.

The Crafty Guide to Soap Making Janet Brooks, is sold on soap! The soap making whiz enjoys creating unique, handcrafted soaps to use, give, and sell at local crafts festivals and now she's breaking down the complex business of soap making so you can join in on the fun. Janet's expert advice will help you whip up batches of heavenly-smelling, therapeutic, and skin-nourishing soaps that are free of unnecessary additives and harsh chemicals. Once you've cooked up a batch of Chocolate Chip Cookie Soap, Chocolate Lovers Exfoliating Soap, and other delectable soaps, there's no turning back! Because this guide is geared towards soap making newbies, Janet guides readers through the history of soap making before moving on to more practical matters--such as describing the four main types of soap making procedures and the equipment you need to purchase when you first get started. Janet discuss the fundamental differences between commercial soap and homemade soap and the pros and cons of specific soap making procedures so readers can determine which one works best for their needs. For practical reasons, Janet does not include instructions on how to make soap using the least favored home-crafting method--the hot process. Do you know how to color a soap blue or beige? Do you know how to make hand milled soap or make soap smell like an orange? What about safety? You'll find the answer to those essential soap making questions, and many others, between the pages of this crafty, comprehensive soap-making guide.

About The Author
Ten years ago Janet Brooks took a soap making class with some friends and the rest is history. Janet now has a spare bedroom dedicated to her soap passion and enjoys making, using and selling her special blend soaps. Janet originally enjoyed giving her homemade soaps to friends and family for holidays and special occasions. With the encouragement of her daughter, Janet began to sell her special blends at local craft fairs and was overwhelmed at the popularity of her soaps. Janet and her husband Jack reside in Oregon and are owned by four black labs. When Janet is not brewing up a new soap batch she enjoys reading, quilting and spending time with her grandkids.
