Further, she is passionate about helping those who would have a barrier in keeping clean such as the homeless population. The organization has the long term plan and vision to adopt 10 homeless shelters and provide monthly soap for them.
“The benefits of taking your bath regularly cannot be over emphasized, it improves blood circulation around the body, helps in balancing the body hormones, cleanses and moisturize the body, prevent body odour and stinky smells, it also helps to reduce stress and induce sleep. Bathing regularly makes one look beautiful clean and always. We therefore invite everyone to donate cash, become a sponsor, donate soap to us, sign up as a volunteer for workshops and fundraising events” said Sufia Hossain, the founder and president of Give A Soap.
One can support this non profit organization in several ways including participating in soap making workshops, becoming a volunteer and helping in the coordination of workshops, help in raising funds, helping with spreading the awareness of cleanliness, becoming a permanent sponsor, donating soap to the organization if one are a soap maker, donating time and talent and also donating fund for a continuous soap making for the homeless.
The soap making workshops involve professional soap makers who are invited to provide workshops to the community. They bring people together and make soap which will be donated to homeless shelters, shower trucks. A monetary gift is suggested to be paid by the volunteers for the soap ingredients however all participants usually leave the workshop with a bar of soap and the knowledge of how to make soap in the comfort of their own homes.
Additional volunteers are needed who will join in writing to solicit for funds and also help in approaching local soap makers to give their quota either in cash and or in giving soap donation to distribute to homeless shelters and shower trucks. Volunteers are also needed to distribute soap to homeless shelters and shower trucks throughout New York and New Jersey.
