Latest Research Suggests That a Diesel May Be Better Than a Hybrid

Stevenage, England - 14 November 2014: The latest models with hybrid drive systems mean that drivers can save fuel and cut their emissions, but a diesel may be cheaper to run, depending on the model in question. A leading car dealer reacts to the latest research in this field.

Peter Hampton at Pound Avenue knows better than most that hybrid cars have been growing in popularity with motorists who want to think that they’re doing their bit for the environment. However, Hampton's own experience suggests a mixed set of results. This is underpinned by the findings of a new study carried out by vehicle-testing service Emissions Analytics (http://emissionsanalytics.com/hybrid-efficiency-put-to-the-test/), which indicates that depending on what they drive, people might be better off owning a diesel.

Whilst hybrid cars are efficient around town when they can run for long periods just on the battery, the study finds that on longer journeys a modern efficient diesel car will deliver better overall fuel economy. When choosing their next car, people should consider the findings of the report and think about how they’re going to use the vehicle.

When drivers are looking for used cars Hertfordshire has plenty on offer, whether they want a hybrid or a diesel. Hampton recognises that consumers are under increasing pressure to cut their motoring costs and fuel-efficient cars don’t linger long on the forecourt. Customers in the market for something that will boost their green credentials and not overtax their wallet should probably snap them up when they appear.
