Dr. Rick believes that the right information helps people take better care of their teeth; therefore, it is his onus as a dentist to bust the myths and tell people facts just as they are.

"Dr. Dawson is dedicated to providing his patients with the newest advancements in dentistry while addressing his patient's oral health needs and concerns. His modernized practice provides digital imaging, intraoral imaging and the latest technologies in cavity and cancer detection. He has a conservative and unhurried manner, which allows his patients to feel comfortable and always well informed."

One of the most common myths about dental health is that sugary foods are the main culprit behind tooth decay, Dr. Rich edifies that this is however only half of the story because tooth decay is actually caused by acid and also the failure to keep teeth and gums clean. The doctor suggests that to curb tooth decay people much brush their teeth regular. Another oral hygiene tips that the doctor busts is brushing teeth directly after a meal. Dr. Rick informs that by brushing right after a meal, people are damaging the weaken enamel and scrubbing in the acid deeper into the enamel which can further weaken it. The doctor suggests that people wait at least 30 minutes after a meal to brush.

Finally, the myth that no visible problems equates to no problems at all, Dr. Rick Dawson want to inform people that this might not always be the case because the first signs of tooth decay and cavities are usually missed by the untrained eye, therefore it is necessary that regular visits to the dentist are made to maintain a healthy smile and nip the problems in the bud as soon as they begin.
