Atlanta airport again nation's busiest
ATLANTA (UPI) -- Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has retained its title as the nation's busiest airport, the Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday. The Atlanta airport recorded 976,307 takeoffs and landings in 2006, compared with 958,643 for Chicago's O'Hare International, which came in second. Dallas Fort-Worth International ranked No. 3 in the nation with 702,713. Atlanta's air traffic was down about 0.4 percent from 2005 figures, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Chicago's air traffic was off about 1.4 percent and Dallas' was down about 2.2 percent. O'Hare ranked No. 1 from 2001 to 2004. Atlanta took the lead in 2005.
